There were explanations of opportunities for youth voice Youth Council, Children’s Mayor, Members of Youth Parliament and Youth Matters Groups. There was a Q&A session and a budget session where the children had to discuss and decide on where best to spend their budget in the community. Finally, they got to have a photo with our local Councillors, Wayne Dixon and Sharon Burke.

Kings and Queens for the day May 2023

Your School Councillors decided that one of the ways to celebrate the recent King Charles' Coronation, would be for each class to have their own King and Queen. Children had to decide form the the children who put themselves up for the vote with a secret ballot. The chosen ones were then crowned and had privileges within their class for the day. Later that afternoon, we all got together for a royal treat, thanks to Sue Smith, our dinner lady, who provided cakes, buns and biscuits.

I'm sure you will agree, everyone looks fabulous for our Royal event!

Here we have Nursery enjoying their crafty sessions, making crowns and sceptres as well as baking some scrumptious biscuits too.

Year 1 looking fabulous in their royal attire whilst learning about King Henry VIII.

Year 3 had a special visitor from the past today. Here's Queen Elizabeth I with all her Royal Subjects.
