Using Senses - 24.03.26
In writing, we brought our imaginations to life as we explored the setting of heaven through our senses. Moving between stations filled with soft lights, gentle chimes, delicate feathers and calming scents, the children generated rich and creative vocabulary inspired by what they could see, hear, smell and touch.

Wheelathon! - 23.03.26
Year 5 had a fantastic time taking part in this year's Wheelathon, travelling around the playround on bikes, scooters and even roller skates to raise money during Lent. Plenty of smiles were had as the children challenged themselves and supported one another throughout. A heartfelt thank you for all generous donations - your kindness made the event even more meaningful!

Perimeter Scavenger Hunt: 19.03.26
Year 5 took their maths learning outdoors with a Perimeter Scavenger Hunt! Working together, the children solved clues to locate different objects around the playground before carefully measuring and calculating their perimeters. A fun way to apply classroom learning in a real-world context. Well done Year 5!

Science Week! - 17.03.26
Our young scientists put their curiosity to the test during Science Week! Inspired by the accidental invention of the Post-it Note by Arthur Fry and Spencer Silver, we explored how different ingredients can make glue. We carefully mixed different combinations - such as flour, salt, sugar and baking soda - with water to observe how each one changed in texture, strength and stickiness. Just like great innovators, we discovered that sometimes the best ideas come from unexpected results (plain flour and water)!

Air Resistance: 02.02.26
In Science, we learnt that air resistance is a type of friction that occurs between air and an object. To demonstrate this, we made different sized parachutes from plastic bags, string, tape and paperclips. We discovered that the larger parachutes fell more slowly because their greater surface area created more air resistance!
