Welcome to Year 3!

Welcome back. I hope the holidays were enjoyable and that everyone in your family was able to enjoy a little rest at some point. This term Year 3 will be taught by myself, Mrs. Everett, who will be supported by Miss Corrigan and Mrs. Shea.

Mr. Keddie will also make an appearance on a Thursday afternoon!

As a team, we are very much looking forward to meeting and teaching all your children.

We started our week with the discovery of a gift from Mrs. Moorland and we loved every

minute of opening it and making decisions about the books we wanted in our reading

corner.

In RE we retold the story of Jesus lost in the Temple. We acted it out in our groups.

We looked at place value in maths and used our white boards to help.

We used globes to investigate the location of places above, below and on the equator.

Leading celebration of the Word for the school community.

Using our whiteboards to help us edit and check our work for our character descriptions.

We had a great time at Magna!

Working in groups to bring together what we have learnt about Baptism

Working on non-fiction features by looking at lots of books!

Learning about conjunctions through a game and writing poetry!

Working together to solve maths problems.

We had a very historical trip to Armley Mills to learn all about life as a mill worker in Victorian times. We had to wear different clothes too!

We really enjoyed reading our non-fiction books in silent reading time.

We compared 2 photos of Leeds before and after the Industrial Revolution and we found lots of changes.

We enjoyed Madame Varlet visiting us to help us with our French!

We reflected during Advent in our worship times. It was peaceful and calm.
