St Philip's Catholic Primary and Nursery School is a one form entry school for children aged 3 to 11 from Nursery to Year 6 with 30 being the planned admission number for all years, other than our bulge cohorts currently in Years 5 & 6 where the admission number is 45.

The school comprises two separate buildings, the main school building opened in 1941 and has been substantially updated since, and there's the Nursery which was built in 1993. The school is surrounded by grassed areas at the side and rear and is situated next to the Parish Church which opened in 1996.

Over the last few years the main school building has been extensively improved and some refurbishment internally has produced an attractive working environment for adults and children. The school has wheelchair access and toilet facilities for those with mobility needs.

St Philip's is a partner in the St Anthony's Primary Learning Partnership: a group of schools which comprises of 10 primary schools, St Mary's - Rothwell, St Anthony's - Beeston, , Holy Family - New Wortley, St Francis - Morley, St Joseph's - Wetherby, St Joseph's - Hunslet, St Patrick's - Burmantofts, St Theresa's - Crossgates, St Nicholas' - Gipton, Rothwell Primary School. Robin Hood Primary School,  and one high school, Mount St Mary's - Richmond Hill. The aim of the partnership is to extend and develop the Catholic Life of the schools and to share knowledge and expertise in teaching and learning. Joint learning experiences bring our children together giving them the opportunity to meet, grow and learn with young people they could well join at high school.
