St Philip's is a Voluntary Aided Catholic Primary and Nursery School. Our children range from age 3 to 11 years.
The most recent Ofsted Inspection (July 2012) stated that:
Achievement is good. Pupils, including disabled pupils, those who have special educational needs and pupils of varying ethnic backgrounds, make good progress. This view is endorsed by all parents and carers in questionnaires.
Pupils’ behaviour is outstanding, as is their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. Pupils are consistently polite and courteous and extremely well-mannered. They are very respectful towards adults and of one another. Their knowledge of how to keep themselves safe is impressive.
This website tells you about our school community, which is part of the St. Margaret Clitherow parish community and the wider Diocese of Leeds. It explains what we are trying to achieve and provides some basic information about the daily life of the school.
Visitors often comment on the friendly atmosphere at our school. This is important because only when children, staff and parents feel relaxed and confident can they all play their part in achieving our main aim which is to ensure that children are happy, healthy safe and successful and know that they are unique individuals, valued by us and unconditionally loved by God.
The important thing to remember is that if you want to know anything about our school - please ask!
